چکیده
Introduction: Choroidal metastasis is a disabling complication of several types common cancer, including breast cancer. Metastases to the choroid may present insidiously but ultimately cause significant visual disturbance and more rarely result in retinal detachment, causing sudden profound impairment. The usual treatment choice for choroidal metastases palliative radiotherapy. External beam radiotherapy posterior orbit often effective stabilizing improving symptoms it can usually be given only once carries risk cataract induction as side effect. Case Report: Here we report using systemic therapy [chemotherapy initial dual anti-human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 (HER-2) therapy] treat 69-year-old female presenting with newly diagnosed widespread secondary major symptom which was related exudative detachment caused by metastases. treated effectively allowed improve quickly, positive effect anti-cancer could observed directly serial ophthalmological examination over first two months cancer treatment, allowing earlier detection response than would normally seen on routine radiological scanning. Conclusion: We propose that selected cases alone sufficient from cancers are expected show marked relatively rapid therapy, such HER-2-positive kept reserve further malignant lesions future.

متن کاملEffect of hormone receptors and Her-2 status on metastasis status in patients with breast cancer using logistic regression model
Introduction: Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer and the leading cause of cancer death among women. According to estimates in 2018, the most frequency of cancer in Iranian women was related to breast cancer with 13776 (12.5%) new cases. Metastasis is a complication of this disease that occurs in 1%-5% of patients. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of hormone recep...
متن کاملHESA-A: new treatment for breast cancer and choroidal metastasis.
BACKGROUND Breast cancer is one of the main causes of mortality among women worldwide. This type of cancer metastasizes to different body tissues, giving rise to many problems. The effect of HESA-A, a drug of herbal-marine origin, on vision, quality of life, and survival of end-stage breast cancer patients was investigated in this study. MATERIAL/METHODS In a double-blind study, 24 breast can...
متن کاملThe HER-2 receptor and breast cancer: ten years of targeted anti-HER-2 therapy and personalized medicine.
The human epidermal growth factor receptor (HER-2) oncogene encodes a transmembrane tyrosine kinase receptor that has evolved as a major classifier of invasive breast cancer and target of therapy for the disease. The validation of the general prognostic significance of HER-2 gene amplification and protein overexpression in the absence of anti-HER-2 targeted therapy is discussed in a study of 10...
متن کاملPrimary systemic therapy of breast cancer.
Primary systemic therapy (PST) or neoadjuvant therapy is used in nonmetastatic breast cancer to treat systemic disease earlier, decrease tumor bulk ideally to a complete pathological response (pCR), and reduce the extent of surgery. The multitude of clinical trials using PST in breast cancer patients has not proven the fundamental hypotheses of improved overall survival and disease-free surviva...
